Paris Story, Perfumery Museum, and Chocolate Museum !

Yeah! Today was the first day in Paris, and we all decided to see the opera house. We took trains to the Opera house and we went in to get our tickets. When we were there somebody in the ticket booth told us the guided tours were all full, we still got our tickets and we made tour reservations for the next day. So we all went outside and we went to the next thing on our list, which was the Paris Story. We entered a small building, and waited until it was time to go into the theater to learn about Paris and how the city got its name. In the theater we saw a film that showed many beautiful places in Paris like the Eiffel Tower, Museum of Music, and so much more. Many times in the film there was happy scenes and the joy of laughter. However, when the Revolutionary War broke out many lives and many famous buildings burnt.  After the War the people of Paris helped raise money to build there theaters and cathedrals back to their original state. When the film ended we walked out of the building on to the street to the Perfumery Museum. At the Perfumery you got to smell lots of different flavors of perfume like coconut, pineapple, black licorice and lots more. 

Next we went to the shop and we looked around until we were ready to have lunch. We had lunch on the stairs leading into the Opera House. We were accompanied by a man singing, it sounded beautiful! We took a break and listened to the man sing. Lastly before heading home we walked to the Chocolate Museum. When you entered the doors you felt like you were in heaven it smelled mouth watering. My dad got our tickets while the rest of us had samples of white, dark, and milk chocolate. There was an activity sheet for kids to do and then earn a prize if you got it right. We took the activity sheet and we went on three floors and pasted stickers in the right place. We finished our sheets and we just made it at the right time because a guy was going to show us how the chocolate was made in shapes. The guy showed us how to do fill the plastics figures with chocolate and then cool for 15 minutes and then eat. For a treat the guy let us try Costa Rica chocolate and many other kinds. When he finished his presentation he showed us the exit and we went upstairs and handed in our sheets. My brother, sister and I all got it right so we got a choice of a chocolate lollipop. I chose dark chocolate. 

After we left we went on our train  to the hostel, to get our stuff and then took a train to go to our apartment. When we got to the apartment we settled our stuff and then we went to get our groceries for dinner and breakfast. 

Versailles Palace

Today we went to a really famous palace in all of Paris, the Palace of Versailles. This palace has many gardens and beautiful fountains.  It is a very popular tourists attraction in all of France. King Louis XIII and King XIV had different ideas on the palace. The palace first was a hunting lodge that King Louis XIII created. After his death his grandson King Louis XIV turned the hunting lodge into a house of government. He was successful, until he died and they turned it into a museum. In the musuem it has  the famous Napoleon artwork, the Hall of Mirrors, and so much more. 

So this is a little bit of information about why the palace is so popular. The palace is so popular because it has many famous statues and paintings from all different countries. First, I saw a famous painting by Leonardo De Vinci . There were many statues like Athena the goddess of wisdom. Next, we went outside where there were lots of beautiful statues and water fountains making the landscape terrific. It was 1:00 clock, so it was time for lunch. We ate our sandwiches on the steps down to the entrance of the magnificent gardens. 

After we went walking in the gardens we went to Marie Antonnetes village. There were houses, and lots of fishes, and there was a farm with horses, sheep, and dogs. We got to feed the horses, until it was 4:00 clock it was time to go home. So we took the train to the entrance of the palace. We were about to exit when my mom wanted to see the Hall of Mirrors. We got a little confused and we asked a man where the Hall of Mirrors was.  He told us where it was, so we walked a little and there it was. It was a magnificent thing. I saw all the mirrors, I looked in the mirrors and there were some that turned into doors. Last, we left and we got a really yummy cheese bread and ate it on the train home! 

Eiffel Tower

Hi! Today I went to the Eiffel Tower. We took a bus to the Eiffel Tower. My dad couldn't get us tickets to the way top online, but when we were in line to get tickets we where surprised because the lady in the ticket booth said we can go all the way up by stairs and then by elevator. When we got to the entrance to the stairs we started to climb. So when we reached the second level it was eleven- thirty. My brother Chayton was hungry so we ate our lunch while waiting in line for the elevator to the top.  We reached the front of the line, and headed on the elevator! 

When we got up to the top, we looked out, "Wow" it was an amazing view. You could see miles and miles of buildings and beautiful parks. I felt like I was in heaven and looking over the earth. We were only inside and we headed outside. The outside view was even more thrilling! We all were admiring the view, until my dad looked at his watch it was time to leave to go to the sightseeing bus. Before the sightseeing bus we went to a bakery and got desserts and we went and ate by the Eiffel Tower. It was time to catch the bus, on the bus we were learning about Paris's architecture, beauty, and life.  It was 5:00 and we were all starting to get hungry so we got off the bus and ate pizza, burgers and fries at this really nice resturaunt. After we left we went on the sightseeing boat down the Siene River. I took lots of pictures and learned about the Siene River. After the boat ride was done it was 9:00 and we were all tired, but we were going to go and see the Eiffel Tower in the nightime.

We sat on the field by the Eiffel Tower and we waited till it was 10:00 and then boom the whole Eiffel Tower was sparkling. It was a night to remember. Wait till you see my photos, you'll love them. It was10:30, so we left and took two buses home and went to bed. 

Anne Halfaways Cottage and Mary Arden's Farm.

Today my family and I went to Anne Hathaway's  Cottage and Mary Arden's Farm.  I had an wonderful experience and an amazing story to tell.

First, we all went to Anne's cottage. I saw her house and very pretty gardens with flowers and chirpping birds. We all went on a nice Woodland walk and there was so much nature and creativity it felt like home. On our adventure we met a cat named Bubbles. He was a cute adventurous cat that loved families just like our kitty we fostered named Cari. In the house we saw the beds, learned about the old superstitions and  also the cooking utensils. In the olden days they were better about not wasting the leftovers. I loved this visit. When we were done we saw the singing tree and then we ended our visit at the gift shop. Then we were off to Mary Arden's farm!

When we got to Mary Arden's farm we all got to see cows, pigs, and  birds. There was going to be a falconery show. We all wanted to go and see the show. The bird was a really cute white barn owl with a heart shaped face. His name was Izzie. I got to hold him  on my hand, cool I know. 

After that, It started to drizzle but my brother wanted to go to the playground. We all went on the swings until it started to pour. Then we ran inside the gift shop and looked around. After that, we all went back to the car. We only got to see a little bit of the farm so I hope we can visit again. I loved going to the cottage and farm it was a really good idea to come out and visit. 

 

William Shakespeare and afternoon tea

Today, I went to William Shakespeare's Birthplace and Afternoon Tea. I had an amazing time. I'm here today to tell you about how amazing it really was.

     

First, I went to the birthplace of Shakespeare and we all went inside the building to get our tickets and go into the little village and learn about his life in poetry, theater and writing. The first exhibition I learned about his village and his family. He had three brothers and four sisters but two of the sisters died when they were babies. Next, I entered in another room and learned about Shakespeare learning to read and write and loving theater and starting his career. Finally, I learned about his plays like Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, and Hamlet. When we were done inside we went outside to his real house and we got to see his room, kitchen, table, his dads glove store, and so much more. Also we saw where the phrase sleep tight don't let the bed bugs bite. The phrase came from the ropes under the wool matress, because they had to tighten the bed, so the bed wouldn't sink. So that's the part sleep tight and the the other part don't let the bed bugs bite,  came from the wool mattress because it carried bugs. When we were all done in the house. We got to see a performance of a man acting on of the lines in Hamlet, when he was done we applauded and then went to the tables and ate lunch it was salami and vegetables. 

After that, we headed to the gift shop, I got postcards to send to my friends and family, after that we went around to shops and did our errands. When we were done we got surprised by getting to go and have tea and desserts. Yummy!  When we got there we went inside and ordered. Five minutes later we got our tea and desserts and started eating. Did you know that many people would have afternoon tea and eat scones, little sandwiches, and drank tea as a snack. In the tea room there were ladies dressed like in the 1940s with a bonnet and a dress with a white apron. I really liked the desserts, there were custards, a cookie, and a brownie and sandwiches. I was really full, but it was so good.

The Making of Harry Potter

Today I went into the Making of Harry Potter world, where parts of Harry Potter movies were filmed. There were many things that we all learned about on the tour.  When we entered you felt like a wizard off on your greatest adventure. We were taking a tour to see the sets, props, and costumes used in the movies.

             

    First, on our tour a lady took us in a cinema and we watched the author J.K Rowling's Harry Potter books get popular and get to be a movie. Then when it ended a man came and the screen went up and you saw the doors to the Great Hall, and the man said ' Welcome to Hogwarts '.those were the first words someone told Harry.  When he said those words he opened the doors and there was the Great Hall. Everyone went in and saw where Griffindor, Syltherin, Raven-claw, and Hufflepuff sat in the Great Hall.  Next we went walking and there was Gringotts Bank, Ministry of Magic, you could fly on a broom, and there was so much more. My brother and sister and I went to the Knight bus that Harry went on to get to the Ministry of Magic. We all got to try Butterbeer it was like root beer but is more buttery. We took a little break and sipped our butter-beer until we were all done drinking.

Next, after the nice butter-beer we saw the flying car, number 4 Privet drive, and the bridge to enter Hogwarts. We also saw the pieces used for the wizarding chess match, the blue prints for the model of  Hogwarts. Then we saw Diagon Alley it was just like in the movie.  The last thing on our tour was Olivanders shop of  wands  where we saw Hermiome's, Harry's and Ron's wands. When the tour was over we went to the gifts shop and looked around and then my parents got themselves a coffee, and we left.  I really enjoyed this and I hope you read this and want to come and experience this in your own eyes!

      

All Around London

Today we all went around London. We went to the Tower Bridge, William Shakespeare's globe theater and St Paul's Cathedral.

First, we all went to the Tower Bridge. When we got there we went into the North tower and we got our tickets and headed to the elevator. The elevator  took us up to the first exhibition. It was really cool, I learned that it took lots and lots of tools to build the bridge. Many men and then later in the years women buillt and had to know how to have patience, confidence, and be able to be strong. Then we headed down to the second exhibition, there was lots of thing here to learn about like the designing of the bridge and the making of it. The last exhibition was the engine room. There were some tools that they may of used to make this bridge lift when big boats needed  to get on the other side. From what I learned at the exhibitions was that there was lots of hard work and patience to build this bridge. To  rate this out of 10, it would be a 9. I would love to actually go to the lifting of the bridge place and learn how to do it. I know it's a bridge but has lots of learning and awesome details. It's a great place to visit.

Next, we alI went walking for 20 minutes to the globe. It's not any globe it's where William Shakespeare did his plays. We learned so much because we had audio guides telling us so much information to last us our life's. When we were just learning about the Rose theater, there was a person telling people to  come down to see how people dressed in the olden days. I thought it would be neat so I went down and sat to watch and then my family sat down with me. The people going to show us asked me to be their model to dress. I was going to be dressed as a shepherdess. I had to wear a thin gown and then I had to put on long socks that had to cover my knees and brown shoes, Next, I put on a thing that made ladies hips big, also I put on a skirt that was orange, then a black dress on the skirt.  Okay, and then finally a apron and a bonnet then I transformed into a lady shepherdess. I had so much fun and really enjoyed the experience. 

Finally we walked across the bridge and we entered St Paul's Cathedral, when we entered we went first to the entrance to the dome. We had to climb lots of stairs so we stopped at a different view place. The view was amazing you could see so much. When we were done looking at the tremendous landscape we went downstairs to the crips and we saw where many important people were buried. We got tired so we left and headed back home. The view from the top was exquisite.

Windsor Castle!

Today I went to a neat place before the castle,I went to where they filmed Harry and Ron going through the wall in Harry Potter movies. I got a picture doing that it was really cool. Next we left that station and we went to the Windsor castle that's where the queen lives in the weekend.We all got to learn by the audio guides, One of the neat things we learned was there was a terrible fire and the children used these paintings  to remember there favorite characters in movies and plays. I thought that was really important and very interesting. Next we all went inside into a room with a big doll house it was Queen Mary's it was the biggest in England. Our guides told us to enter a room with a big dinning table this was where the king and the Queen would have their royal feast.They would use gold plates and china with beautiful colors, it was amazing. Then we entered lots of rooms like the drawing room, the queens bed, kings bed, the ball room and even more rooms.It was thrilling. After that,we all went to the chapel where the choir sings, the Queen sits ,the knights sit, and  the joining people that later become knights. I loved where the Queen sat it really looked comfortable. The patterns on the chair came in diffrent colors. I know your thinking colors there not important but they are they give you feeling and emotions. We ended our day with a really fast grocery stop and then rode the train and tube back home and we ate dinner. 

The Breath Taking Day!

Today was a amazing day I went to the Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace and Paddington Train Station. The first thing I did today was watch the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace, where Queen Elizabeth lives on the weekdays. It was very neat because I learned about the guards and their uniforms and plumes. When we were done looking we ate our salami sandwiches on the grass.  Well that's it, oh I'm just kidding we are not nearly finished. Next, we went to Kensington Palace where Princess Diana lived before she past on. We learned about some of England's kings and queens, princesses, also princes and duchesses.  I was so thrilled that we got to learn so much. We all left and took a train to Paddington Station. I was excited to see the statue of Paddington, the adventurous bear.  It was so good to see my moms smile and happiness about her times with her Paddington bear. We ended the day with going out to dinner again and I finally got my fish and chips, yeah!  I'm so glad you took time to read. So stay tuned for more...
